These horses are in need of rescue, or have just been rescued, but aren't listed individually on the website yet - more info and photos will be posted as soon as possible...

The horses below are all in CO.

Dark bay Clydesdale mare

  • Approx. 12+ years old
  • Approx. 17.0 - 17.1 hands
  • Shod all the way around with nice shoes
  • Hooves are kind of rough and chipped below the shoes
  • Supposed to be broke to ride and drive single & double
  • Easy to handle, loads well on trailers
  • Seems to be sound, but may move a little stiff/sore in the hind end ??
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: TBD

Black Percheron mare

  • Age unknown as of now
  • Approx. 16.3-17.0 hands 
  • Feet in good shape
  • Halter-broke and easy to handle when caught
  • Still a little standoffish with people
  • Training status unknown
  • Might have been a broodmare - obviously had foals in the past 
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: TBD

Belgian gelding

  • Approx. 5-6 years old
  • Approx. 18+ hands
  • Feet in OK shape
  • Picks up feet when asked 
  • Halterbroke and easy to handle
  • .... but shy and a bit untrusting of people still
  • Supposedly broke to drive, but not confirmed yet
  • Attractive, nice mover!
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: TBD

Team of retired geldings

John

  • Belgian/Percheron cross
  • 25+ years old
  • Approx. 16.1-16.2 hands
  • Feet in OK shape now - hadn't been trimmed in over 8 years  
  • Does OK for the farrier but still needs a little work
  • Has some arthritis in shoulder and front end
  • Easy keeper, in good shape
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO



Paul

  • Belgian
  • 24+ years old
  • Approx. 16.2-16.3 hands            
  • Feet in good shape now after not being trimmed for 8 years
  • Does OK for the farrier but still needs more training
  • Still pretty sound and could possibly be used for light driving/riding
  • Easy keeper, in good shape for his age! 
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO

Senior Clydesdale Gelding - COMPANION ONLY

  • 20+ years old
  • Approx. 17.0 hands
  • Not trained to drive or ride  
  • Feet a work in progress - had apparently NEVER been trimmed before
  • ...and has resulting mechanical founder from lack of hoof care
  • Pasture sound
  • Could possibly be trained under saddle for light pleasure riding
  • Does OK for farrier on front feet, but still needs training on back feet
  • Thin and a hard keeper right now - needs to gain weight
  • Possibly EPSM horse that requires special high-fat/low-carb diet
  • Very handsome pasture ornament
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO

DRIVING TEAM - White Percheron Mares

  • Lizzy: 15.3 hands
  • Dizzy: 16.0 hands 
  • Both 16+ years old
  • VERY well broke to drive, traffic safe
  • Trained to ride (Lizzy was ridden bareback w/ a halter and did great)
  • Both sound and easy keepers
  • One of them has some tumors under her tail....
  • ...the vet already looked at them and said they are melanomas...
  • .... but don't appear to be anything to worry about,and ....
  • ....they don't cause her any problems at all.

Senior Shire Gelding

  • Approx. 17 hands
  • Black
  • At least in his upper teens in age
  • Sound and picks up all 4 feet
  • Most-likely broke to drive
  • Saddled and ridden at the feedlot:
  • Doesn't seem to be very used to being ridden,
  • but did well and responded to voice commands
  • Needs to gain weight
  • Currently located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: TBD

1998 Black Percheron Mare

  • 17.2+ hands
  • Huge "tank" of a horse - weighs about 2200 lbs or more
  • Very sweet, attractive, and easy to handle
  • Supposedly broke to drive 
  • FOR SURE broke to ride, she rides nice
  • For light riding only - she has a slightly enlarged knee...
  • ....which doesn't seem to bother her except at higher speeds
  • Located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: TBD

2 Mammoth Donkey Jennies

  • Both about 14.2 hands
  • Age: still unknown - they don't look young
  • Both a bit shy but approachable
  • Good feet
  • Both need to gain weight
  • Can be adopted serarately - not very attached to each other
  • Located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Adoption Fee: $550 each plus all Vet- and farrier-fees
