Spent 2 weeks with a trainer just recently for basics & ground-driving
Most-likely used for driving years ago
Paulie has been living near a creek and has developed signs of....
... SWEET ITCH (= gnat allergy)
He needs regular fly-protection (spray, etc.) and/or ...
... a low-humidity, gnat-free environment/barn/home (high altitudes)
Otherwise healthy and sound
Paulie can be sensitive and/or nervous with strangers
Perfectly fine after he trusts a person
(Possibly abused/rough-handled when he was young)
Does NOT do well locked up in a barn/stall
Needs a calm, committed, patient, loving home with pastures

Note from the trainer 06/2008: Paulie is a really sweet but huge guy. He is broke to lead. Will stand tied.Work round pen. He will follow you around like a puppy dog in a pen. He really has a heart to please. He stands for bathing. Loads great in trailer. He needs a calm and gentle hand. (was probably trained when younger by the amish as a pulling horse). He is a high stepper and likes to show off.
