UPDATE 1-19-2010:  The vet did an ultrasound (internal) on her today. No tumors, no stones. everything is clear. No calcium deposits in her bladder.  She does have a continuing bladder infection which we started a double hit of two different antibiotics today. He is coming Monday for some little surgery to suture the top of the vulva so manure does not contaminate it and cause a UTI. Now he thinks she has had at least one foal.  She should be fixed up in about a month

UPDATE 3-10-2010: The vet re-examined Jaz yesterday and he feels the infection is under control. He also thinks that her long period of neglect has lead to incontinence. He is calling a colleague at the U of Penn and feels that medication over 2 or 3 months can correct the problem and strengthen the bladder muscles so long traumatized by the serious infection. He wants her on SMZ for another three weeks ( which will make it 60 days  on top of genocide, baytrel and excel ) and he'll let me know today about the dosage for the other meds.  I think I told you before that I had the other vet do an internal ultrasound and ruled out stones, tumors or structural issues.
