LIBERTY passed away early Monday morning, 9/13/2010, at her foster home...

E-mail from her foster-mom in TX: "I have some very sad news this morning.........around 3:00 this morning Liberty lost a fight with impaction colic.....
Our vet was so great and did everything she could, and Liberty put up a good fight but didn't pull through."

REST IN PEACE DEAR LIBERTY !!!!!!

• No training - has been a "breeding machine" her whole life
• Foaled a stud colt on 5-17-2010
• Currently located at a foster-home in Bynum, TX

Note about Liberty from her foster mom 5/18/2010:  Liberty's handling is tricky.....I can touch her, pet her, approach her and she will approach me.....but only me. Not my mother, husband, or anyone else. She won't let them touch her. And with the baby, at the moment, she won't let me touch her either... She DEFINATELY knows what a rope is though, and that it can HURT, because she gets very nervous around them and will leave. I feel like I'm starting over again now that Justice is here, but he's only been around two days, so I'm expecting her to calm down about being so protective in a little while. But don't worry, .....they aren't in the way. I just want them somewhere where someone can work with her and Justice on their people skills when I leave.......She's a sweet horse, just very mistrusting.......you have to "earn" her, but it isnt hard. She isn't "crazy" or "wild" just standoff-ish and suspicious I guess you could say......
